Who your vote will support
When you
vote for Tom you will be supporting everyone who wants:
-
A
District 2 Commissioner who is honest, open, fair and balanced;
-
Our Board of County
Commissioners to:
Fight
less,
Focus
on our real community needs,
Stop
using our tax dollars on pork and fluff election projects, and
Provide a new
vision and road map for our futures.
-
Our homes and
businesses
to be affordable again;
-
Safer
and neighbor friendly communities;
-
Less
congestion where we live, drive, shop, play, learn, and work;
-
A
diversity of jobs that offer good earnings and career potential;
-
Development that:
Does not complicate our lives,
Preserves our character and quality of life, and
Serves the community and not special interests.
In short,
your vote will support the difference between
Tom and the current District 2 commissioner.
I am
fundamentally different because I deal with County government and our
community as a Statesman, not as a politician. A Statesman thinks of
our next generation and is not limited by what will decide the next
election.
I believe
that being a true leader – a Statesman – means:
-
Respecting not
only the political process, but also
-
Respecting our
history, customs, and character
-
Respecting
your opinions
-
Understanding
human nature, and
-
Understanding
that certain things MUST be done for the good of our community,
In spite of what others may WANT to do to feed their egos or
pockets.
Unlike my
opponent, I will not:
-
Sit silently
and wait to be confronted by issues, and
-
Then only do
what’s necessary for the next election.
Instead,
I will:
-
Reach out to
understand your issues,
-
Actively deal
with them,
-
Be consistent
and reliable while planning and deciding issues, and
-
Be satisfied
only when things can be foreseen to be going well for you and our
community’s future.
I ask for
your help in my campaign as the first step of changing our Board of
County Commissioners from “Pro-Developer” to our new “Pro-Community”
vision.
We must hold the current District 2 Commissioner accountable for his
past 5 years of poor performance and not allow him to spin his way out
of it. Because he
and his
handlers will use the plans discussed here, they will be detailed later
in 2008.
Until then, I will gladly meet with your group to discuss them.
With
Great Regard,
Tom
